In 1847 it was vintner Giacomo Zanotto who employed his knowledge of the fruits of the land watered by the River Piave to invent a noble liqueur, still made to the original secret recipe.
The grapes of the indigenous Roboso variety are left to mature with cane sugar and selected aromas in the oak casks of the barrel cellar, where they maintain intact the wonderful aroma of marasca cherries and blackberries and acquire a lovely deep ruby colour.
